"I cook with wine, Sometimes, I even add it to the food." W.C. FIELDS - H. Montanile Winery Reviews - A comprehensive overview of California's wine country detailing the overall experience of visiting the California Wineries.
- Domaine du PEGAU - Pegau's "Capo" is one of the finest wines in the world....the 2001 was rated '100' by Robert Parker.
- Amuse Bouche - Very, very special. Newly released. Limited production. Newly born. One of the world's best. Enjoy if you can get it. I know the Ryland Inn, N.J. #1 rated by Zagat has an advanced bottle or two for $600. They will go fast once those in the know find out. And it takes a lot to get me excited...
- Although almost 100,000 cases are made, "Unico" is one of the most difficult wines to obtain, with 98,000 bottles produced. After extensive aging, they hold the wines until they are ready to drink, for about ten years before releasing. Click here for Vega Sicilia.

- Smith Haut Lafitte - Over the years, I have tried many, many white wines. This wine is special - dry, full-bodied, flavorful. The producers, Daniel and Florence Chathard, world class olympic ski champions, put their energies into a ski clothes business, built it up, sold it, and bought this wonderful property into which they put their competitive energy. It's a beautiful vineyard and spa with 200 acres of their own oak forest used for barrels. Very special. Their wine (white), in my opinion, world class.
- Robert Parker Online - For a small subscription fee, you can be advised by the famous Robert Parker. Mr. Parker does not take advertisement and buys most of the wines he tastes. I have built a wonderful wine collection following his advice. Of my 2000 top rated wines (of course, by Robert Parker), my favorite is DAL FORNO AMARONE 1997.
- Castello Banfi - Several years ago, I tasted a bottle of Banfi 'something' at Restaurant Girasole in East Norwich, Long Island, NY. Fine wines. Since, I have tried many bottles of Banfi - Loved every one. Smooth. Drinkable. Interesting. Soft. Nice. May I suggest you try Banfi "Excelsus", a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Notice the bottler: Banfi Vintners - Old Westbury, L.I., NY -- right next to Girasole. I also like it's Summus (Sangiovese/Cab Sav/Sarah). In fact, I haven't had a bottle I did not like. No wonder, in only ten years, Banfi has become one of the largest exporters out of Italy - and, this isn't dirt cheap stuff. I have since learned that Banfi employs the latest wine making techniques and produces some of the finest wines in Italy (Italy is the largest wine producing nation).
- Two Fresh...Two Fold! - Sauvignon Blanc - White wine: Sauvignon Blanc, hands down over California, honey like, Chardonnay. Try Pur Sang by Didier Dagueneau -- if you can find it.
