Strive to develop one's inner self. Tranquility. Even. Stress less. Meditation. Fairness. Helping others without looking for anything in return. Focus on what is important. Dismiss, like water off a duck's back, the frictions of life. Accept people for what they are - It is that very diversity that makes life so interesting.

Besides external factors, inner stress can be just as harmful. For example: While moderate exercise is healthy, pushing one's body to an extreme can be injurious. So, the key is moderation and strive for inner tranquility. Try meditation and deep breathing techniques.

Dr. Emmett Miller has some wonderful relaxation tapes and a mind/body book.

Sleep

Almost all living animals need sleep. That is when the body heals itself. When we lay down at night, the pineal gland produces Melatonin; more when we are younger, less as we age. This hormone is believed to control the sleep process. Do you know that in animal studies, those given supplements of Melatonin live 20% longer. (Near starvation also increased animal longevity by up to 40%!)
